Leisureworld acquires new luxury residences
Leisureworld Senior Care Corporation has added two new luxury residents to their portfolio. The luxury residents, both located in Ontario in Kingston and Kanata, respectively, are worth a total of $94.8 million. The Royalton retirement residences will be renamed The Royal upon completion of the acquisition. |

McGuinty government supports long-term care residents in provincial budget
The McGuinty government is providing ongoing support for long-term health care residents, shown through the $40 million set aside for the OANHSS in the recently announced provincial budget. The money will go towards new staff and investments to better the support for an increasingly aging Ontario population. |

OLTCA elects new Board of Directors
The Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA) has elected a new Board of Directors. The election took place at the recent Annual General Meeting in Toronto. The new Board will be led by returning President, Lois Cormack, who is the President of Specialty Care Inc. in Vaughan, Ontario. |

Nova Scotia gains two new long-term careNova Scotia has recently opened two long-term care facilities to comfortably accommodate seniors in the province. The facilities, located in Falmouth and Middleton have been designed to keep in line with the provinces new provincial design standards which consist of multiple multi-unit households. |
